There seems to be only so much you can accomplish with pure ole
JavaScript.
I created QDVDAuthor (Qt based) and I would love to see web based
MultiMedia apps appear which can handle this type of work.
I believe that once QooxDoo gets SVG support it will be a major step in
that direction.
Also there is always the possibility, to write a plugin to handle the
tough work like cuting the video/audio and plexing it back together. (I
don't like the backend solution if you are talking about Gigs of Video
data).
I would realy love to add these type of apps to http://www.AstraNOS.org
<http://www.astranos.org/> . Who knows maybe in time we'll get there.
BTW, is there interest to include the AstraNOS's FishEyePanel in the
main QooxDoo code ? It would need some work but it might be a
nice-to-have feature.

Maybe an adventurous soul would do a Macromedia Director style time
line! ;-) Have yet to see a modern tool that offers that kind of simple
power (Flash really, really sucks in that dept.).

of course you are right. I'm currently focused very much on my own
application which has nothing to do with showing things the fancy way,
just plain old data display. :) I guess because of that I'm a little
shortsighted right now.
Hopefully someone will do a multimedia killer app with this animation
features, this could bring Qooxdoo very much publicity.
