if I remember correctly, the next major Firefox release 3.0 will also 
have some kind of direct support for offline applications.

We are entering a glorious time where offline applications run directly 
in browsers instead of those outdated OS environments. Now who needs QT, 
GTK, MFC, etc. anymore? Down with the C++ oppression, long live JS! ;)

Ok, seriously, this could evolve to a really interesting thing, but I'm 
still wondering what kind of applications will really benefit from this.
I'll keep an eye on this for sure...
