You can say what you want, but in our company there is a saying, that winning an argument is always loosing a customer.
Fact is, that new people don't want to spent 30minutes, just to figure out, if qooxdoo is right for them. So in my opinion a pre-built package is a totally right thing to do. Not only for new people, but as you see there are also use cases, which demand such a build. (And to be honest, I tried to do such a 'allInOne' build as well and wasn't easily able to figure out how it was done ... in this thread you can see that other have problems with this as well). It is very good though, that for going into production there is a toolchain which optimizes download size / startup time drastically ! No argument on that - whoever wants to go into production needs python and the toolchain ... and 30 minutes to get it running is VERY good. But it isn't needed to force people to this toolchain, when they are still in their evaluation phase ! I think, this just plain driving at least a quarter of people to another frameworks ... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ qooxdoo-devel mailing list qooxdoo-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qooxdoo-devel
