Yep - I think without the quickstart a didn't get into qooxdoo as I did 
(ok - the toolchain was more complicated in 0.7.x). The quickstart is so 
easy to use when you are not being forced to use the toolchain and that is 
a very good thing in the beginning. 
You can right start with all the snippets from the demo as well, without 
reading the docs (and who reads docs as the first thing to do :D ).

If you then consider, that when beginning with a new qooxdoo project after 
each introduction of a new class you have to recompile (which happens 
quite often then) a precompiled qooxdoo library comes in very handy as 
well.

So my vote is on providing a quickstart again - just not to frighten of 
new users and let them feel the power of qooxdoo instantly
