I appreciate your feedback. I agree that messing with the system-
dependent Python 2.3.4 could be dangerous to my sanity, but I wanted to
hear it from someone else.
I think editing the tool scripts and skeleton templates is probably the
safest route to getting things to work without royally *dumping* on the
currently-stable antique OS.
I'll give a shot at updating the scripts mentioned in these posts, and
I'll let you know how it works and if I have further issues. I'm going
to go looking for a shell method to update this line in all the scripts
at once without repeating the "open-paste-save-close" steps multiple
times. I know I'll spend longer looking for a shortcut, but that's what
we programmers do, right? ;-)
