Feedback...
When implemented in a standalone application, the two textfields and
related popup tables behave as expected. Clearly, there is something
about an Inline implementation that interferes with the automatic
behavior of popup windows. I converted from inserting the textfields
into separate DIV elements to positioning them inside of one DIV
element, and this did not affect the behavior.
I know the Inline method is relatively new, so I'm sure there are deep
caverns yet to be explored and conquered. I suspect that the popup
manager makes some assumptions about accessing the Standalone root
rather than the Inline root, possibly breaking the manager's automatic
functionality. I wonder if the "root" could somehow be commonized
through a reference object rather than assuming the use of a standalone
implementation, but this would obviously cut completely through the
framework at many levels.
Thanks again to Jim and Derrell for your input. I've got some work to
do with this project.
