I don't know enough about the current state of trunk and its changes to judge how "critical" this concern is.
As a Qooxdoo user I can say, however, that I'd be more than happy to wait a bit longer for a 1.0 release (as I am fortunate enough to decide for myself to use trunk, I have all the latest features/fixes available to me and my customers anyway).
