Welcome to qooxdoo,

I think the best starting point is

http://qooxdoo.org/documentation

and there

http://qooxdoo.org/documentation/1.0#getting_started

Try the Hello World example first.

There is a lot more info on these pages as well and there are even general
links to JS topics relevant in the Qooxdoo context.

Also look at http://qooxdoo.org/documentation/1.0/snippets

There are also some Qooxdoo tutorials:

http://www.muhuk.com/2008/10/getting-a-little-further-than-hello-world-with-qooxdoo/

and some more sepcialized ones

http://www.muhuk.com/2009/01/using-layouts-in-qooxdoo-part-1/ up to part 5.

Tobi's tutorial is for an older version (0.7.x), some API changes have
happened since then, but the basics are still valid and useful:

http://www.slideshare.net/oetiker/lisa-qooxdoo-tutorial-handouts-presentation

Also, use the online demos and tools:

http://qooxdoo.org/demo

like

http://demo.qooxdoo.org/current/showcase/

http://demo.qooxdoo.org/current/demobrowser

http://demo.qooxdoo.org/current/playground/#Hello_World

and of course the API docu

http://demo.qooxdoo.org/1.0.x/apiviewer

BTW, I had never used Javascript beyond the typical 5-liners for some simple
form validation before starting with Qooxdoo. So I don't think you need to
first learn JS, just use Qooxdoo and learn as you go.

And use the mailing list when you have concrete questions (even simple ones
are answered in a friendly way here).

Cheers,
Fritz
