Christian,

The 'translation' job works on the local library only. The idea is that
somebody maintaining a library will also be interested in (and best suited
for) taking care of the corresponding .po files. If you generate a version
of your app with 'source' or 'build', all translations from contribs you
use are being picked up. If you are not satisfied with the translations
coming with a contrib, or you want to support a language that is not
directly supported by the contrib, you should be able to provide
translations for the contrib's localized strings in your app's own .po
files (you could e.g. run 'translation' in the contrib and then append the
resulting .po file(s) to your app's .po files).
