Hi Thomas: sorry if I did not make myself clear. The problem I am trying to solve is to create qooxdoo widgets in a native popup window, one that I can create in qooxdoo with "qx.bom.Window.open()". According to a message by Fabian [1], qooxdoo has support for creating widgets in this window, that is, to support a different object root than the one of the main window. However, bug 3086 [2] prevents this feature from being fully functional.
My message tried to describe why I would like to have this bug fixed. Using the same qooxdoo object tree and rendering engine across multiple DOMs allows me to build an application that is not limited to one browser window, thus allowing a better user experience: one can display all kinds of widgets in different native browser popup windows which can be independently handled, moved around, etc., without cluttering the main browser window, into which the application has been loaded. It would be the difference between this: http://qooxdoo.678.n2.nabble.com/file/n5158099/Bild_1.png (Qooxdoo windows) and this: http://qooxdoo.678.n2.nabble.com/file/n5158099/Bild_3.png (Browser windows) Do you see what I mean?
