This feature was requested at my company, too. So I will vote for that!
Although I could convince the requester that he doesn't really need this ;)

The use case you described was somewhat similar to ours: But the  main argument
was a "Multi Monitor Setup", where the user wants one window on one screen and
another one on the other screen...
With "qooxdoo-windows" this would require the user to maximize his client
(Browser) over all Monitors! I fully understand if a user regrets to do so :-D

So, ...you are not alone... ;)
