I am on Snow Leopard using Safari 4.0.4. It seems to be a context
issue though, because I have moved the code for opening the window
from an 'input'-event listener into a 'click'-event listener and it
works now. I only tried opening the window in the 'input'-listener for
test purposes anyway, so the problem is now solved for me. It is just
a bit strange not to see the same behaviour across browsers, but I
assume there is some fairly technical knowledge necessary why it did
not work inside the 'input'-listener.

  Thanks.
