1. First of all, we deliver to customers now. We are not waiting til 2011-2012
or even later. Time is money.

And thats why I would not spend so much time on such micro optimizations. You
said your application has tenth the size of the framework. I guess there is
sure some other algorithms in there which can lead to a better improvement that
this. But I don't know... you are the insider in that case and are sure making
the right decision!

2. Future doesn't even tell if qooxdoo will exist.
Well, we have based most of our products on the framework here at 1&1 and as
long as this is the case, it sure will exist. But anyway, what has that to do
with performance optimizations???

3. Even though much of the optimization can be done by the browser, not all can
and will be done. You do not even know what and how much!
And on the other side, you can not know what optimizations you break doing your
own. And i guess the browser can optimize the most readable code best.

4. The optimizations done now will not break future code in any way, probably
only make it even better, as long as there are no side effects of the change of
the browsers.
Readability? Time we spend here at 1&1 doing so... two good reasons!

5. How you are going to get the big elephants (web browser companies) to dance
in sync I don't know....maybe you have a recipe on that? So far it has not
worked.
No point for the discussion...

6. How you are going to get the end users to choose same colours on the socks,
the browser, you want them to choose....maybe you have a recipe on that too?
If you really want some help in the future on that list, maybe you should cut
out such comment.

Regards,
Martin
