You are using the git code and probably following the tutorial from the blog? Then you have to go back to the qooxdoo version that was current then (prob. 1.3). Or, you stick with 1.5, use the tutorial from the manual of that version (which, hopefully, has been updated to reflect the 1.5 API :), and do without the git code samples.
