Hallo Martin, & List Folk,
Thanks Martin, that looks to be precisely what I needed to have any chance
to get started...
Indeed, I read a lot of that stuff, but now that I'm into using Qooxdoo how
it fits together is only just beginning to fall into place. I see the need /
use / power of using the JSON files from your perspective. From my user
perspective it a bit confusing what uses what to what when.... but one
step at a time.
To begin with there are TWO files: Manifest & config - so I just added the
same code (following) to both that looks like this:
"add-script" :
[
{
"uri" : "http://js.pusherapp.com/1.9/pusher.min.js"
}
]
===========
Not sure if this is formatted correctly but no errors generated on this that
I see. Then I messed around with generate.py for an hour or so reading up
on the docs but didn't see anything too promising. Something about job file
missing, again and again. (I have added several classes into the
"application" file and I guess I need to start breaking the program up abit
(although with my IDE "folding" feature this seems unnecessary - even if a
good idea.)
*But when I attempt to access a method in that I know is in the Pusher js
library I get the message:" Uncaught ReferenceError: Pusher is not defined"*
OK, I suspect I have to prefix the library functions with something, and I
have tried what I can think of like Pusher. but nothing makes it work.
So, I could have
1. Something not right in the JSON file(s) - does that look right?
2. Something I didn't do via ./generate.py
3. Some sort of namespace convention I'm not doing right
4. Some sort of Require/Include/... needed to resolve namespace?
or, of course, something I have no idea about yet.....
/More Pusher Info - if anybody is interested: I have formatted the Pusher
"library" and it is about 650 lines. There is a lot of "fall back" code so
that older browsers can see results from some alternative transport
mechanisms. Security is handled with several options. At the service end
they have a Free "sandbox" level that I'm looking forward to playing in if
I can get resolved on the above. /
Meanwhile my 70 or so widgets are "learning to dance together" nicely, and
I'm very pleased with how everything is coming together!
Thanks in advance for any comments on the above,
Sincerely,
GKoller -
