We have looked at extjs designer now and the diagrammer too. Amazing
achievement by Sencha. Far ahead of qooxdoo in fast application development,
usability and user friendliness.
It is like comparing DataFlex, with the most useful OO concept, with other
competing technologies in the 80'ies. Who lost? DataFlex of course. It didn't
make any difference that they had the absolutely best OO concept and followed
OMG on all items and was first to implement it.
Instead development speed, usability and user friendliness won the framework
war.
We have almost the same situation to face with qooxdoo today.
How is qooxdoo core team going to meet this challenge? Time is short!
The development of a designer and a graphics/diagrammer package seems to be
essential to still stay in the game. DataFlex guys denied this and were digging
deep in the source like they did in the 70'ies, but now we know they lost and
DataFlex is only managing old systems nowadays...and then it will totally
disappear.
