Why do you think JExt developed a designer? Apparently they do not seem to have
the same opinion as you...
Additionally, it is on the front side!!! = important!

I agree, but addressing the question to also the core team doesn't mean we want
it to be part of the core. It is a utility like playground, testrunner,
generator ets ALL developed by the core team!

I have never said it is a killer feature! Give you an example: Why do you buy a
Ferrari to drive on Autobahn when you only can drive in about 120 km/h? Just
FYI it is quite hard to sit in below 200 km/h = not soft!
So...would you be pleased if the Ferrari was improved to be able to sit
comfortably in 120 km/h?
Our opinion is, as JExt seems to have, and all other big manufacturers, that a
good infrastructure with a designer or any tool minimizing work is crucial.
Maybe this is something to think of.
Additionally, beginners new to qooxdoo would have a lower step to develop their
first application.
Do you use all the qooxdoo help tools? (then I mean everyone of them!) Maybe a
designer should have been prioritized before one or two of them...

This is not a charade! The phrase "let alone" has never neither been used or
insinuated. By the way, there are still frameworks which have survived the
80'ies, known to all born before that time. Another funny thing is...the
biggest code base in all means is COBOLT, but it is a separate discussion. What
is known is that a good infrastructure in terms of good helping tools prolongs
life of a framework. Ask Microsoft, Oracle, Borland and you name it...
JsQt is a promising approach. The problem with support of extended widgets
seems not to be limited. Additionally, I guess it seems dormant...is it? Nov
19, 2009 What signals do that send out? Maybe smoke... Look at the freshness of
the competitor JExt and its site!
If we would have time, we would definitively put the effort into it. We might
have time to assist someone else to manage a project like a designer.
T, are you going to bring forward a designer tool? or should I interpret your
answer as a no?
