I had no luck trying to create a small app which exhibits the same problem so
I changed the original app. Instead of trying to re-display the login
screen, I opted for clearing the screen and destroying all objects:
document.body.innerHTML = this.tr("You are logged off");
qx.core.ObjectRegistry.shutdown();
The only other option I could think of was to reload the page:
window.location.href = window.location.href;
