Steve,

I've had mixed reports about maven from other teams/projects I've worked on.
Some of them found/find it quite constraining and overly complex for simply
getting a build/release package. I can't see the harm in asking other teams
on Apache what they think.

I will post all feedback, good/bad/indifferent - and hadn't intended to
imply otherwise, and haven't suggested distrust.

I'm not playing games and have been neither insulting nor divisive in my
postings.

Tired of being flamed :-(

I'm not. It's divisive and somewhat insulting.

Why? Independent of what?

And what if you don't consider any feedback you get as being
positive? Are you implying that you're then going to revert the
entire trunk back to ant? That's why I find your message divisive and
insulting -- it implies a significant level of distrust of your
fellow Qpid committers.

If you have issues with maven, it would be much more in the spirit of
fostering a non-dysfunctional Qpid dev community to share them here,
rather than implying that you're unhappy with maven, not telling us
why, and then attempting to back your claims by using a poll to find
other like-minded individuals from outside this project.

So let's stop with the games and be honest: what don't you like about
maven, and why?
