Hmm. I have installed tcp-wrappers, but didnt tell qpopper about it.
I have an allow/deny file - but only use this for sshd2.
Could this be an issue??

Not applicable. Even using 'localhost' to port 110 fails.

Started with -s only

Lastly, compile time options:
./configure --enable-servermode --enable-log-facility=LOG_LOCAL2 
--enable-standalone --enable-fast-update --enable-chunky-writes=1 
--disable-check-pw-max --enable-auto-delete
