I just installed the appropriate package with the mail locking header
files (package is called 'liblockdev1' in Debian) and then re-ran the
'configure' script. No option changes were involved. This time
'configure' picked up library mail locking functions. I'm guessing that
before it didn't know about them and instead configured locking
incompatible with the MTA (Z-Mailer in our case, but I think my comments
apply equally well to Sendmail.)
