I installed the QPopper4.0.4 and followed the instructions in the manual.
I added the following line to /etc/inetd,conf:

pop3 stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/sbin/popper qpopper -s

I also checked /etc/services to ensure that pop3 had been included and
found the following line under the 'Network services, Internet style'

pop3 110/tcp # Post Office Protocol - Version 3

According to the manual, this is correct, but when I try to telnet I
receive the following message:

telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

The manual states that this is because the port name pop3 is not the same
as the one in inetd.conf, but as the above demonstrates this is not the
case.

Could you possibly help me with this?

I am using

QPopper4.0.4
Solaris 8

Thanks.

Ayasha
