Good day:

We are using qpopper4.0.3 on a P4 1.5Ghz with 1Gb RAM, server running
Slackware Linux version 8.0 (kernel 2.4.5). Currently running in inetd
as
"pop3 stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/sbin/popper qpopper -s
-R" . We have seen no problems connecting on the LAN but within the
last couple days we have seen an increase in timeouts and .pop files
remaining, as if there is some sort of network problems occurring. With
larger mailboxes, some only even 1Mb , this is happening. I have
tracerouted from some of the problem networks to us, and back and the
connections are all fine, I have tried to change hubs that the server is
on and the problem remains, could this be a problem with the network
card or something? Is it a qpopper problem? I have added the -R above
to try and reduce the time of connection, but it is still the same. Any
assistance is appreciated, we are using an onboard Intel Ethernet
adapter.

Thanks,

Steve
