The problem you are describing is an old one. Google for it and you will
discover that many people have had this same problem. After spending two
months and getting no where, I finally dumped it in favor of 'Dovecot'.
I just could not afford to lose any more mail. My users were going to
string me up. In any case, we went to all virtual users, so that worked
out well.
The error message indicates the client disconnected without telling
the server, and the TCP session terminated. This can happen if the
user reboots their computer, the client application dies, or Internet
connectivity is interrupted beteeen client and server.

where is the problem isn't AV Norton and already virtual users, I
have modified timedout value on Outlook Express but the problem isn't solved !
If you cannot find a solution to this problem, you might want to
consider 'Dovecot'.
I am sorry if must dimiss Qpopper ! :-(
Thanks.
Glad dovecot solved gerard's needs. Lots of folks use qpopper with
much success in both small and large installations. If it were unable
to talk to Outlook or Outlook Express, I'm sure I'd know, since I
have a large and diverse customer base connecting to qpopper (I run a
web and email services company with lots of customers).
