Thus solving any problem before it starts. I use it to not only limit simo-connections from /32 but in bigger scopes. & allowing more simo-connections ffrom other networks....

Turning off MAXCONNIP isn't really realistic either considering how often we get nailed by virus hosts.
FWIW, we had over 1 million incoming SMTP connections yesterday processed by
qpsmtpd. I believe one day last week we had about 300k on an 'average' day;
once we did some tweaks to ease the load on clamd, qpsmtpd was handling the
load albeit with the frequent SEGVs. -- justin
