Yeah, they are pretty intent on the fat install (and a little defensive about it, too ;-). I think the issue is one of reducing their exposure; they have tuned all of the subsystems for their app alone and don't have the wherewithall to create an install script that covers all of the possibilities. I don't even think there is a single distro where they can run using the existing system software releases (like with SLES, they bumped both openLDAP and MySQL beyond what SLES9 includes). That being said, it looks very nice (no newsreader, though). Now that the GA release is out, perhaps they will spend some time paring down the install to use existing resources... John
