I was (am) strongly apposed to c++11 in clang, but they (community)
seemed to pull it off by going with gcc-4.8.2 and MSVC 2012 (2013
Express is free and can be installed side-by-side). Side note: It's my
understanding that gcc-4.8.2 is the 1st sorta good c++11 capable version.

For the distro which could get left behind - why not install a clang
package? I believe someone is doing the 2step bootstrap packages
already. Working with that community could be friendly to your efforts.

clang + QtC build bots may help ensure it goes smooth.

Wish I could be more helpful
