Hi, agreed it's a bit insane to patch the .exe file, but actually I think you can have the cake and eat it too (i.e. build without -target xp so that windows kit 8 or 10 is still kosher) by instead adding this to Qt Creator's .pro file: QMAKE_LFLAGS_WINDOWS = /SUBSYSTEM:WINDOWS,5.01
