Last time I checked, Qt Creator compiled with MSVC was indeed (albeit marginally) faster on startup than the same one compiled with a MinGW toolchain. Anyhow, most Qt Creator developers on Windows use MSVC, so that's IMO a good enough reason to stick to it for the binaries, too. Aside from personal preference, there are also practical reasons for this: You still can't actually debug Qt Creator in gdb on Windows because it runs out of memory ...
