Yes, it is on Linux and sure it is the standard behaviour. But it is
..., well, annoying.
So, it would be nice if I  had the choice to switch in on or off in
QtCreator.

wich OS? I think it the standard behaviour of X11/Linux e.a.  (pasting
the clipboard contents with the midde mouse button)
