Hi,

The same issues that I mentioned apply equally to Maemo.

I haven't seen signals getting lost myself, but that doesn't sound good. If
you're able to put together a minimal test case which reproduces the problem
we'd really appreciate it if you could file a bug report and attach the test
case.

Just in case, the bug tracker is here:

Cheers,

Dave

Subject: Re: [Qt-mobility-feedback] FW: location and direction bug ??

Hei

Did You read the latter post? There are some problems more, with maemo also.
The 5800 with BT - feed worked whole last night without problems. I am inside
and feeding some old trip with BT to phone (with satellite inf and proper fix).

Hei

 Have to reply myself.

I abandoned the Mobility/Location and used native code in Symbian. It works and
gives direction just like asked.

It seems that I must do the same with maemo, no direction.

Another problem: If application gets too many updates (50 times / sec) from
many places it seems like having tendency to loose them. This happens on all
platforms but Win32 (mac, wince,maemo, symbian). Network downloads suffer
from this also mobility/location/positionupdated. All emits do not work, they
are lost??.

PS The Tasku Loisto II product is done with Qt.
http://www.hannusales.fi/ulpub/TaskuLoisto2010.pdf
still missing Symbian Maemo.

Sorry about the delay in the response.

There are a couple of reasons that the direction attribute may not be being
set. The most common reason would occur when both satellite and network based
position data is coming in - the network data will appear long before the
satellite data and won't have a direction associated with it. The other reason
could be that you didn't have a good satellite fix - there are several
attributes which are either not set or are pretty inaccurate before 3 or more
satellites are contributing to the fix (depending on conditions this can take
some time).

If the direction is not being reported when you have the phone set to only use
GPS / AGPS, you're testing it out of doors and away from buildings, and you're
waiting at least 5-10 minutes for the first fix then please file a bug and
we'll look into it.

Cheers,

Dave

Hei

Mobility location does not give direction in symbian :
In the code:

    if (info.hasAttribute(QGeoPositionInfo::Direction)  ){

        g_ULdata->NMEAData->COG.v=info.attribute(QGeoPositionInfo::Direction);

    }

Course over ground (COG) is never set.

Position and SOG are OK.

This works in native Symbian class

( void CTLSatInfo::PositionInfoUpdatedL( TPositionInfoBase & aPosInfo,
    const TDesC & aModulename) )

Bug ?? I tried to find the reason at

CQGeoPositionInfoSourceS60::TPositionInfo2QGeoPositionInfo

but not succedded.

I am using QT SDk and mobility 1.0.2 .
