HI,
I just compiled the tech preview for OS X with Cocoa on, but I was
rather
dismayed by the really, really wonky font rendering -- the glyphs
aren't
even on the same baseline. Is this just cocoa and should I try to
compile
for carbon, or is this a known & work in progress?
It's not a known issue.
But you have to realise that the road for Cocoa will be bumpy, so
if you could
help us and tell us if the same problem occurs with Carbon, it
would be
extremely helpful.
Ok, I'll recompile, no problem :-)
Actually, now that I think about it. I remember, we were seeing this
in some cases (i.e., the qtdemo program), but not in other cases like
the textedit demo. This is limited to Cocoa for the moment.
So, if you see text wandering up and down the baseline, we are aware
of it. If you have a small example that shows it off it will make it
even easier to fix.
Sorry for the mixed messaging, but thanks for helping out and testing
the preview!
