D-Bus on X11 platforms uses the X11 server to keep information for 
autolaunching purposes. dbus-daemon isn't linking to libX11, but dbus-
launch does. (I wrote that feature)

But the feature was not intended to be used on "pure Mac" environments. 
The Mac way is not merged into the mainline D-Bus tree AFAIK. You should 
ask the KDE-on-Mac maintainers for the patch to make it work.

In any case, Designer does not use QtDBus directly. I don't see how it 
could be the issue.
