Without compiler optimization and updating the movebox after every
iteration, Quackle did 100 2-ply iterations of KA, ILKA, and TAKA after
AWEING to open in about 12 seconds. Updating the movebox after every 20
iterations and it was about 10-11 seconds for 100 iterations. With
compiler optimizations and delayed movebox updating, my quackle did 1100
iterations of the same position in a minute.
I'm using Linux on a machine with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz
processor and 1027624 kB memory; I have no idea how the Windows release
will do, or slower computers.
Simulations will be an additional 50% faster when olaugh reenables
GADDAG usage in the backend.
cheers
