Using Quackle, I've just finished analysing a game I played at the Durham tournament at the weekend.
On moves 3 and 4, I lost 17 and 6 points of equity, respectively. On move 6, I played a move involving a phoney (UP, MOU and DOOP); the move went unchallenged. The Quackle simulation showed my move simulated 7 points better than the best move using valid words. Can I legitimately say that my total equity loss up to this point in the game was 17+6-7 = 16 points ? The remainder of my plays had only one move less than optimal, with an equity loss of 24 points. However, this move was in the endgame, and I am certain that my actual play was better in the circumstances than Quackle's "best" move - since my opponent had seven tiles including a blank, and my actual play shut down the remaining bingo line. So, how good is Quackle's endgame? Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com Yahoo!
