The Macs were of varying ages - from newish (past year) to several years old. Encountering them at every stop on our trip to NYC, Brooklyn and Martha's Vineyard was eerie. They all, however, had a feature where an icon (do you Mac-ers also call them icons? ;+) ) that bounced up and down at the bottom of the screen. Both Lester and I had problems getting to our email or even to Google. I ended up clicking on History and hoping Google was on the list. Only on one Mac (in Brooklyn) where the owner had Google as her home page, were things a bit easier.
Did I send you the link that Spencer Sun sent me - a funny video about Mac v. PC? If you're interested, plz advz and I'll forward. Best, JKM PS: Why can't these two companies (with their tremendously egomaniacal owners) get together and make things easier for all of us? >From: Steven Brown <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: RE: [quackle] Quack-Mac >Date: Sun, 22 Apr 2007 09:18:13 +1200 > >Joan, > >For these two statements to logically follow, I have to assume that >*all* the problematic Macs on the trip were also *new* Macs (that had >just been bought). > >Was this true? > >Steven (who could also discuss this via built-in iSight...) > >At 2:34 PM -0700 20/4/07, JOAN MOCINE wrote: > >Dear Chris: > > > >The first thing you're doing wrong is "I bought a new Mac". > > > >Best, > > > >Joan "Swearing off Macs forever after recent trip in which EVERY person >had > >one and ALL BUT 1 were SLOW, overly gimmicky, and a pain in the ass!" >Mocine
