Interesting discussion Hope you enjoyed your game with Toni!
I happen to have been simming some games from the same tournament In fact just as I opened this email I have a game in Quackle where I got crushed by Tim Michaels I had a rack of PENCELS but the only good score was SPENCE so I played it. Somehow Quackle is finding probabilities like 20% or 25% that I can win, but I had pretty much given up and I barely noticed the Q was out Tim had recently exchanged When doing endgame sims I believe it works well within the limits of Quackle's AI to set your plies to 'many' and then it will sim to the end of the game. The limits of quackle's AI (if I'm guessing right) are that it doesn't consider the motivation for exchanging. It looks at the bag as if all tiles are equally likely to be in it. I read recently that Maven used to assume the human was holding good tiles after a fishing-type play. At least SPENCE gave me a chance to draw the FY etc. but Tim had chosen a good time to exchange it looks like I am pretty glad I am doing this It is helping me discover a lot of mistakes I made, that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Sorry my line breaks are funny I am using Outlook and I am paranoid it will get wrapped at 40 columns and do nasty double-wrapping unless I make the lines very short (Set the following to plaintext or Courier New font if you can) Kevin Leeds: Turn 13 A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O -> Kevin Leeds CEELNPS 304 ------------------------------ Tim Michaels EEFHLJY 400 1|N D ' G T O L E| --Tracking----------------------------------- 2|A - E H " O S " R - | EHEEFJLQY 9 3|R T A ' A W M U O N | 4|Y A R E T I I N '| 5| B A T - l U R K | 6| O I " L " I " | 7|G I N ' E ' | 8|I T ' M O V E D ' =| 9|B E ' O A F ' ' D ' | 10| A I D E " V U " | 11| U S t A R I N G | 12|' - W ' - '| 13| Z O R I S ' - | 14| T A X " " - | 15|C O P ' = ' =| ------------------------------
