Heh heh heh... There's an old "Far Side" cartoon of two circus bears - one is wearing a muzzle and one is holding a muzzle in his paw, saying to his comrade, "Well hey... these things just snap right off."
Turns out all the necessary binaries are included in the tarball. So after messing with it this evening, unless I'm looking at things incorrectly, I've got Quackle reduced to the bare minimum, which is basically one executable (quacker) and one directory (data). If one of the primary developers could confirm this is a proper install - disregarding the Qt dependency - that would be great. Either way it does run on my system now. (Lost by 90 points in my first game, blah.) Anand: Thanks for sharing your wisdom. Never did get a proper compile, even with your helpful instructions, which I'd seen earlier and tried at that time. But, the real point is to get this thing into a package of some sort for easy distribution. It looks like making .deb packages is fairly straightforward, so after a few more tests, that will probably be my next step. I'll post my results here, and if they're successful, it'll just be a matter of hanging the .deb file somewhere. Naturally, any work I do on this will be released freely for everyone's benefit.
