Yes, I was also thinking about that-suggesting linux. But on a really old
machine, you might still have the same issues with hardware drivers. Plus, my
experience is that Windows 95 machines are owned by older folks who don't
always want to learn another operating system.
It is less of headache to spend a couple hundred nicker for a used lappie with
better specs. Most win95 machines you couldn't trade for pasty down at the
co-op, as any oggy fiend might tell you.

Or make a bootable Live CD (yes, with Linux). That way they won't
have to remove their beloved Win95 :-) (Presumably there's a reason
for keeping it other than 'my computer is too small for XP'. If the
latter, just remember that the cost of electricity for some older
computers swamps the cost of the upgrade to a new one ;-) )
