Dear Quackle developers,
My name is Hector Klie, and I'm currently president of the
International Scrabble Federation in Spanish (FISE,
http://www.fisescrabble.org/).
We are about to complete a Spanish lexicon based on the RAE dictionary
(www.rae.es) and we are interested in knowing the capabilities that
Quackle may offer for analizyng plays in our language. There are some
subscribers in this group that have already made contact with some of
you: Enric Hernandez, who exchanged some emails with John and Jason
Katz-Brown back in 2005, Alejandro Gonzalez, whom you met at WSC, and
Cristian Richard who just recently posted a note. All of them, plus a
few other players have decided to put together a lexicon and software
development group to provide tools that will facilitate the validation
and correctness of words played in our tournaments and also, will aid
at improving skills of different players that are register in our
federation.
According to Enric, one of the main issues to adapt Quackle to play
Spanish is the creation of the DAWG with digraph tiles. We would
appreciate pointers in how to this. What is the current status on this?
According to old email I read from John, this has been already done for
Welsh.
Thanks,
Hector
