I ran into a problem with Quackle for my macbook recently, but seem to have
found the
solution. Thought I would share for others who are doing the same thing wrong
as I.

I downloaded quackle for macbook (the first of the two links for mac on the
website), and the
download process went smoothly. I copied the "quackle" folder to applications.
I opened the
"quackle" folder, and moved the quackle icon (the one that looks like a Q) to
my desktop.
When I tried to open THAT when it was on the desktop, it fails to load the
dictionaries or
something, and won't let me do anything because of it. But the instant I moved
the Q icon
back into the quackle folder which was in applications, it worked fine again.
So for me, the
quackle Q icon must be in the quackle folder (along with the data folder being
in there too)
for it to work. I then realized I could move the quackle folder out to the
desktop, but not the
actual quackle Q icon by itself.

Sorry if this has been openly discussed already; i just joined the group so I
may have missed
it. Otherwise, glad to be a help to anyone who found this useful.
