Quackle is a known substance abuser. Maybe this time rehab will be in order.

A question came up on the Scrabble LiveJournal group about the opening rack
AAGIRSS. I performed a 2-ply sim and asked Championship Player for the
choices, inputting the rack as AAGIRSS, and received these results:

  8D SAIGA (56.03%/32.9)
8H AGRIAS (53.65%/27.2)
8G AGRIAS (53.63%/27.3)
8G SAGA (53.56%/27.3)
8H AGRIA (53.49%/27.1)
8G GAS (53.45%/27.1)
8G SAG (53.37%/26.9)
8F SAIGA (53.33%/26.6)
8E AGRIAS (53.23%/26.5)
8C AGRIAS (53.15%/26.1)

A later question about the relative merits of GAS and SAG caused me to re-run
the sim. I did everything the same, except I typed in the rack as SAGRIAS, and
received these results:

  8H AGRIA (55.08%/30.9)
8D SAIGA (54.68%/29.8)
8H AGRIAS (54.67%/29.6)
8G SAIGA (54.26%/28.8)
8G AGRIAS (54.03%/28.2)
8H AGS (53.95%/28.3)
8F SAIGA (53.58%/27.4)
8C AGRIAS (53.50%/27.1)
8H SAIGA (53.35%/26.9)
8F AGAS (53.30%/26.8)

I repeated the sim multiple times with each rack, always getting the same
(respective) results.

It appears that the order of letters on the rack, at least in this isolated
case, is impacting the sim (as well as win percentages and valuation). Does
anyone know why that would be happening?

FYI, I am running Quackle 0.95 in a Windows XP environment, in case that
matters.
