Stuntman,
I am sure people are bored to ad nauseam with our continued disagreements, so I have no problem agreeing to disagree and remain friends. I really wasn't trying to be adversarial, but expressing my opinion.
As far as not being old enough to remember the Vietnam War, you are correct; my memory is rather selective on that particular time frame. I do recall my father going off seven times to a place I had never heard of before. I recollect watching the POWs returning and I also bethink my fathers disgust at the treatment of all veterans. The way returning veterans and those which served in this country were treated during the Vietnam era, was, in my opinion, reprehensible to say the least.
That being said, I think putting John Kerry into the same ranks as the people who spit on you is going a little far. I believe John Kerry should be held accountable for his actions, but I don't remember ever hearing of him spitting on someone. I know he served as the spokesman for the Vietnam Veterans against the War and testified before Congress, but I had never heard of any allegations of this type. I do, however, recall reading that John McCain initially had a lot of animosity towards John Kerry, but they seemed to have worked out their differences. I know my father, who holds a tremendous disdain for many people who acted in that shameless way, is supporting John Kerry's bid for presidency. In fact, he just told me that the individuals who served in Vietnam had more of a right to protest that war than any other individual. He was not denying the rights of everyone else, but simply stating these veterans know more about what they are protesting than anybody else.
I can apologize now for the terrible treatment you any other veterans received, but it will not change the fact that many people in this country acted irresponsibly. I just simply hope we, as a community, can learn from this terrible stain on our history and continue to support the fine soldiers, sailors, Marines, and other people serving in or for the military during this time of need. This support should be unwavering; regardless of how anyone feels about the current war in Iraq.
I will let you know that I try to do more than just pay lip service to the support I give to the veterans. I attempt to peer counsel newly injured SCI veterans and because I live in Tampa, where all the newly injured SCI combat veterans are returning to, I have a particularly striking insight into the impact the war in Iraq and on terrorism is having on our young veterans. I do not peer counsel newly injured patients for kudos; I do it because it makes me feel good and I also feel it is my civic responsibility.
Sincerely,
Billy

Hi Billy,
I got "your point", but I don't agree with it.
I still don't, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends.
My referrence to "sheeple" is to those who payed their money believing
they were going to a "Documentory" and never questioned "meatheads"
motives for deliberate misinformation. MONEY, he is a shrewed con
artist who knows how to pull peoples strings and push their buttons.
Despite your "dictionary" definition, meathead fits moore, due to his
pigheaded ideologies. Even when confronted with the truth he uses
misdirection to avoid answering the question. I saw enough of his
mockumentory "Bowling for Columbine" dollars, (free shorts) to know it
was BS and found out just how he took a bunch of out of context truths
to mislead his audience by creating the illusion that events took place
as he portrayed them. I saw enough ! of his latest scam on shows hyping
the movie to know I'd never put one penny of mine into his pocket.
I supplied links where his lies were exposed. Dave Kopel didn't
use "opinions" to expose moore in his "59 Deceits in F-911", he used
facts.
You posted links from people who just hold "opinions" on movies.
I hope you notice the difference. Opinions are emotional, facts are
truths. moore "claimed" he would sue anybody who maligned his film,
however he is presently being taken to task by "The (Bloomington)
Pantagraph newspaper in central Illinois, sent a letter to Moore and
his production company, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., asking Moore to
apologize for using what the newspaper says was a doctored front page
in the film, the paper reported Friday."

BTW (don't take it personal) nice "spin" calling my post spewing hate.
That is all! F-911 is. I'm exposing him for what he is. I'm not making
anything up (like him), I'm not slandering him, so where is this so
called "spewing hate"?
With the 1st Amendment Right to freedom of speech comes the personal
responsibility of "Truth".
Many of moore's deliberate fabrications have now been proven wrong by
the 9/11 Commission, (or would you believe that the Democrats would
help cover-up for Bush in an election year?)
You had mentioned in another post on how you were too young to remember
much about the "Nam" years. Well I was serving during the time. So
while you don't know what it's like to be spit on and called a baby
killer, I do. It didn't matter to that part of society (mostly "so
called college intellectuals") that I'd never served over there. It
matters a lot to me that Kerry joined their ranks.
Yes, he had the freedom to do so.
Just like I got my freedom to hold him accountable for it.
I will voice my op! inions often. Especialy when it is a matter that I
feel strongly about.
Much like you don't care much for a certain News person.
I have respected your feelings and have not mentioned him on the board.
Do not expect the same for meathead.
BTW, I don't listen to "talk radio", Rush "full of himself" Limbaugh
turned me off over a decade ago when he went overboard radical right
back when he had his TV show.
So while I respect your right to an opinion, I'll keep mine.
Respectfully,
Stuntman
