I'm sorry to say this but is seems that when people have injuries and then
start promoting or start raising money for the cause. Celebrities or not,
someone has something negative to say about them. I'm not too crazy about
saying anything negative. Even if he is in it for himself, he is still bringing
awareness to a cause. With Jessie, we've got the surfers recognizing the
issues when maybe those particular people didn't really care or know much about
it.
The documentary "step into the liquid" was on tonight and he's on
that. It was amazing to see how his buddies helped him surf. They
carried him to the water and pushed him out on his board. Pretty awesome
stuff.
Oh, he contributes money he raised to Christopher Reeve's paralysis
foundation. I'm sure this is going to start a huge battle on the list, but
that is how it is as I see it. Anyone who raises awareness is good.
Who knows it might be one of us one day and will be in the lime light. I
don't know about you guys, but I would love to be a person that has a name in
peoples conversations across the nation about spinal cord injuries and what I am
doing to help the cause. I guess I'm just selfish as well.
