Yes and no. I found him, but then trained him myself. With my prior dog experience before my accident and then having two program trained dogs and by reading and being on service dog lists, When it came time to retire my lab, I took the plunge to get a breed I wanted and the sex I wanted. I like male dogs better than females. For a first time service dog user I would very highly recommend getting one from a program first.
