I don't so much love the sun as I hate being white. The summer is so
hot and I don't have a pool so I don't go out cause makes me sick so I find
myself out towards the end of the summer or if it's not way too hot. I
don't even really go out to sit til 2:30 or 3:00, I tan well, so I pick up my
color from when we are running around doing errands, going to the boardwalk, or
I am working with my plants outside, when I am not thinking about the sun and I
am not sitting out in it cooking myself (at least that is what it feels like as
hot as it gets) I think if I had a chair that reclined it wouldn't be so bad,
but I don't need it or neccesarily want it except for a nap now and again.
We have had an amazing summer and the weather has been great the last few weeks
so I have really been enjoying sitting out.
I had an abscess in my breast. It was pretty bad so I had to get
surgery to get it cut out. It was a lot worse than we thought because when
I went to change the bandage, there was a nice size cut. I'm just glad
it's not anything to worry about because breast cancer runs in my family.
I have started lining up my surgery for a procedure that I can cath through my
belly button for January when we went to Hopkins for my Urology and Neurology
apt. the other day. I'm really excited about that. No more
catheter!!!!!!
Neurology went ok. I took up some new MRI pics that I had gotten down
here. My doctor is great, but he doesn't always spend that much time
talking to me, but he did save my life. My MRI report from a couple of
years ago says my level is T 7/8. Another doctor told me my sensory level
was T 6. My MRi's look like my spine is pretty roughed up but I didn't
realize it was so much of it until we actually talked about it this last
time. I never knew what to look for in the films and it really stood out
to me this last time. Most of my T spine is all squished and
turned. It looks very thin on the film with T 7/8 looking the worst.
I knew it wasn't a clean site, but had no idea it was so much of a mess. I
am fortunate that the left over damage is only in my t spine because the disease
was in my brain and my whole spinal cord. And another good
thing is that I do not have to keep going up there anymore. I haven't had
any problems with the disease and he's confident that I wont. He always
gives me his email and gave it to me one more time and wants me to keep him
updated on what happens with the urologist and my decision on the baclofen
pump. I have been thinking about getting one when my sore heals up.
I think it's cool that he wants to stay involved with all aspects of what
happens medically with me when it's the primary doctor takes on that role.
Sorry I couldn't explain that process a little better, but you may have noticed
in your short past here on the qlist, I ramble just a little bit.
My Mom is in Daytona and is freaking about this hurricane coming since
Charley went right over her. She also grew up in Maryland so isn't
familiar with such horrible storms. Luckily she lives in a brick home so I
feel more comfortable, but still worry because there are a lot of trees where
she lives. I guess I'll see on Saturday how it will go for her, but I
think she'll be fine since this storm has been downgraded.
All in all, everything is good. If I could just get a decent man
to try to grab my attention, I would be a whole lot better off. Being
alone for pushing 4 years is getting old. I would understand if I ugly or
separated myself from people and didn't talk to anyone, but I love meeting
people and I know I am not a beauty queen but I don't think I am that bad
looking. I guess there are that many damn people where I live
that are intimidated by me and my chair.
ok, enough rambling for me.
