War is hell. Any war is hell. Those who have been thru one don't discuss the details with those on the outside. Most would not understand. There are times in battle when you follow orders to protect your fellow soldiers and there are times when a soldier must protect themselves. What it takes to do that is not always pretty or worth repeating to others who were not there to experience the battle. Any time someone tries to convey a battle event, the words get fumbled and miscued. This is one reason the words of combat are seldom repeated at home.
