[QUAD-L] swimming issue for supra-pubic

Does anyone know if people with supra-pubic cathes in lower stomach can swim? I used to go on float trips and swim till I got a supra-pubic cath--which is an open hole in lower stomach that catheter goes in. I take showers but my doc not sure about pools or rivers because of bacteria, I may just have to forget swims and floats lol.   Thanks, Dan
