I'm sure that you realize that serving in the Military these days .... are

The type of survival gear being issued to the guard is not like the survival
gear being offered to the enlisted soldier.  I understand their pay scale also
differs greatly and so do their benefits while in Iraq.

Can anyone ever say there was a time when all was equal? I've heard the stories too. My brother is in the Army Reserve, a Postal unit. When they had their training and were issued their body armor. The body armor did not fit but that was all that was left and the combat unit got stuff first. They were told they would get proper equipment from the unit they were replacing when they got to Kuwait. All units coming from and going to go through Kuwait. They did.

Pay is based on pay grade and years in service, so of course it differs greatly. Anyone can check the pay here

an E-4 SPC won't get as much as an E-5 SGT.

As for benefits, pay is tax-free while in a combat zone (even 1 day). With the SCRA they can have all credit obligations reduced to no more than 6% interest. That include credit cards and any other loans.

I personally believe that any soldier in combat deserves a lot more than they
are receiving and getting.  I haven't heard of any generals getting injured
and we know that there's a hundred there in command.

Hey I agree they deserve a lot more.
