Hi Wheels,

I must agree, Jerry is a proud parent.  He will never forget the lessons that he learned in his all too brief of a time as a parent of a son with a SCI.  He will not forget because his love for his son, Adam, will always be in his heart, and it is through that love that he will view life.  So long, my friend, may you continue to show the courage that has brought you to us...and onward!

With Love,

What a nice letter, from a proud parent. May you continue to do well in
everything that you do. Attending college and earning a degree, then begging on
the street corner doesn't benefit you from that which you learned in college.
Same could be said about your education and knowledge of spinal cord injury
and those who must support their spouses, families and loved ones. Don't waste
the knowledge learn. Continue to support your local chapter of the National
Spinal Cord Injury Association. There are new spouses, families and loved ones
being exposed to injury each day and need an educated shoulder to lean on
during the early stages of injury. You know... you've been there. I continue to
wish the very best for you and yours! You earned it!

<< I ha! ve stayed with this list since Adam's death, I guess hoping to find
some peace, hoping to be able to contribute. The peace is slowly coming. But I
do not have much to contribute. The ones who live this are very
knowledgeable and many are quite eloquent in their replies. Mary Carol does not read the
posts anymore. It causes her pain. Frankly, I find myself tearing up when a
post reminds me of an experience with Adam. It is time to go.

I will be unsubbing tonight - have to get to work and do not have time to
do it right now - but wanted to say goodbye and express our appreciation to
all of you. Hopefully, I will get the unsubbing right and Eric and Stacy will
not have to "correct" me. JK. I may sign up for the digest version or check
the archives occasionally, just to keep up with old friends.

Not intending to offend anyone, but I feel I must give my special thanks
to Mark, Wheel, Boyd, Houston (who has been noticeably absent), Br! eezy, Smurf,
Eric, Stacy, Stuntman, Lil' Quad, and Andrea, and of course, the kindest,
gentlest man I have known, Dave (who I will continue to see on the SCIC list).
You have been a source of much support for which I will ever be grateful.

May God bless all on this list and may we find a cure for SCI in our
lifetimes. So long.

Jerry
